TAMPA FL – Amscot Financial, a well-known supporter of many bay-area community services benefiting kids, has stepped up to donate $2,500 to a local program that provides vouchers for free swimming lessons to eligible participants. Amscot will present a check on Friday, May 15th at the Safe Kids Greater Tampa Bay meeting.

“Kids have always been a priority when focusing on community endeavors,” says Ian MacKechnie, Amscot’s founder, chairmen and CEO. “We’re honored to lend our support for a program that can help keep kids healthy and safe.”

The free swimming program is run by a partnership called the Hillsborough Water Safety Team – which is comprised of St. Joseph’s Hospital Children’s Hospital, Tampa YMCA, City of Tampa Parks & Recreation, and the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center. Their goal is to help kids learn to swim by helping them build the necessary skills to encourage a healthy activity they can participate in over a lifetime.

Funding is made possible by supporters such as Amscot, The Junior League of Tampa Bay and The Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA).

Amscot Financial has more than 240 locations throughout Florida. The company offers check cashing, cash advances, and free money orders along with a host of other convenient financial services, 365 days a year.
