Tampa, FL – (December 7, 2015) Amscot Financial is proud to be part of the 5th Annual Winter Wonder Ride, hosted by onbikes, a non-profit organization that provides new bicycles and helmets for at risk and foster children throughout Tampa Bay. As part of their involvement with this year’s ride, to be held on December 12th, Amscot has pledged $2,500 and 550 children’s bike helmets for this worthy event.
“Amscot has been a longtime champion of children’s causes, so getting involved with onbikes and the Winter Wonder Ride was a very natural fit for us,” said Ian MacKechnie, Amscot’s founder, chairman and CEO.
onbikes was founded in 2011 when a group of friends organized a community bike ride during the winter holiday season to raise funds so at-risk kids could receive their very first bike. It was an incredible success and onbikes was born.
“At onbikes we are simply doing our part to make a very real difference in a child’s life,” said Drew Weatherford, president of onbikes. “With sponsors like Amscot, we’ll be able to deliver more bikes and helmets this year than ever before.”
