Ocala, FL – (October 25, 2011) –Amscot Financial, a leading provider of convenient, consumer-oriented financial services, invites all to come out and have fun “the Amscot way” at the grand opening of its newest location in Ocala. The event will be held on Saturday, October, 29, 2006 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2594 SW College Road in Ocala.  Amscot Financial will present a $500 contribution to the Mid-Florida division of Children’s Home Society and to Marion County’s “Bring Home the Harvest” food drive.

Children’s Home Society works throughout the state of Florida to deliver a unique spectrum of social services designed to protect children at risk of abuse, neglect or abandonment; to strengthen and stabilize families; to help young people break the cycle of abuse and neglect; and to find safe, loving homes for children. Every year, CHS helps to improve the lives of about 100,000 children and family members. The Mid-Florida Division of Children's Home Society of Florida opened its Ocala office in 1964.

The “Bring Home the Harvest” food drive is a newly launched effort by Marion County to help re-stock the county’s food pantries and is being led by the Marion County Commission.

During the Amscot open house event, children’s entertainment will be provided.  Radio station WOGK-FM will broadcast live from Amscot’s parking lot and give away prizes.  Free refreshments will also be provided.

At the Amscot grand opening, the Child Rescue Network, (CRN) a national nonprofit organization for missing children based in Tampa, will also be available on site to provide free fingerprinting for children. CRN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise awareness of the number of children victimized and missing in the United States and around the world, to provide parents with the knowledge and tools to help better protect their children, and to help aid in the search efforts to locate and reunite abducted children with their families.

The program produces a state-of-the-art, specially designed card for parents to keep.  The card contains a set of the child’s fingerprints and a photo. Safety brochures are provided with the fingerprint card, as well as an envelope containing further information on how to complete the child safety kit.
