Tampa, FL – (September 10, 2014) – Amscot Financial has, once again, showed its unwavering support for The Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay’s Rising Stars event. This year marks Amscot’s eighth consecutive year of being an event sponsor, underscoring Amscot’s company-wide emphasis on putting kids first.
As an Idol level sponsor, Amscot contributed $5,000 to support the organization’s 33rd Annual Steak Dinner and Celebration, which was held Tuesday September 9th, 2014. Several representatives from Amscot attended the gala dinner.
The annual steak dinner is an opportunity for every guest, including donors, community partners and volunteers, to meet with and hear from the direct beneficiaries of their efforts – the club members. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Derrick Brooks was also honored at the event.
The Annual Steak Dinner is a tradition celebrated in Boys & Girls Clubs across the nation. Originated in Memphis and dubbed the “Steak & Burger Dinner,” this event came with a twist. While Club Members dined on steaks, adults feasted on hamburgers. Since its inception more than 40 years ago, the event has evolved nationwide to include Annual Steak & Steak Dinners and, in Tampa, Rising Stars: Annual Steak Dinner & Celebration.
