Over the past 10 years, Amscot customers and Amscot Financial have combined to raise nearly$1.2 million to support students through school district education foundations in 20 counties serves.
Tampa, FL – (September 17, 2015) – One dollar at a time has now added up to nearly $1.2 million through Amscot Financial’s annual campaign to provide over-and-above, targeted support for students throughout the company’s 20 county service territory. A leading provider of convenient, consumer-oriented financial services, Amscot just completed its 10th annual “Just a Dollar” campaign in August.
Throughout the month, Amscot Financial associates invited each customer to voluntarily contribute a dollar to their public school district local education foundation. Amscot tracked contributions by county to ensure each dollar donated was directed to the education foundation serving the countywide school district in which the branch is located. Through customer generosity, the 2015 ‘Just a Dollar’ campaign raised $145,138. With an additional $10,000 contribution from Amscot Financial, this year’s total reached $155,138.
With customer contributions and Amscot matches over the past 10years, more than $1,187,310 has been raised for local education foundation initiatives via the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations (CFEF), a Gainesville-based umbrella organization.
According to CFEF President Mary Chance, funds raised on behalf of Florida’s countywide education foundations are used to support reading and scholarship programs and other locally driven programs not supported by tax dollars.
“This campaign clearly resonates with both our customers and our associates,” said Ian MacKechnie, founder and CEO of Amscot Financial. “The fact that the funds are used for unmet needs when school budgets fall short and to help individual students means a great deal to all of us.”
