Grand Openings

MIAMI GARDENS, FL – Amscot is set to celebrate the open house of its Miami Gardens branch at 709 NW 183rd Street on Saturday, March 12th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. As part of the open house celebration, Amscot will be donating $3,000 to The Mayor’s Annual Laptop Giveaway and $2,500 to the City of Miami Gardens Junior Council.

The Mayor’s Annual Laptop Giveaway recognizes and rewards the exemplary scholastic achievements of seniors at Miami Carol City Senior High School, Miami Norland Senior High School, and Miami Northwestern Senior High School. The giveaways take place during the school’s end-of-year award ceremony where recipients are selected by counselors and teachers from each school.

The Junior Council is composed of student leaders from Miami Carol City Senior High School and Miami Norland Senior High School. The members of this council advise the City Council on issues facing youth, plan events for the community, and represent young people locally and nationally.

In addition to supporting The Mayor’s Annual Laptop Giveaway and the City of Miami Gardens Junior Council, the open house event will also offer an array of activities for families. Two tickets to Jazz in the Gardens will be given away every half hour and free refreshments and lunch will be provided. Bike helmets will be given to the first 100 kids to arrive and there will be radio station giveaways from 99 JAMZ as they broadcast live from Amscot’s parking lot. An Amscot recruiter will be on hand to talk about the many exciting career opportunities available with Amscot.

"Through the years, Amscot has served countless Florida families with convenient financial services that help them get on with the business of life. When we hold events like this, it's only natural that our focus on families and children remains front and center," says Ian MacKechnie, Amscot's Founder & CEO.

The Child Rescue Network will be on hand for a free kid’s fingerprinting program. Their Safety ID Program will weigh and measure kids, take a thumbprint and photograph and give parents a laminated Safety ID Card to put in their wallets. These valuable tools save lives and can help quickly reunite a lost child with his family.

Amscot offers cash advances, check cashing, electronic bill payment, money transfer services, prepaid cards, notary services, ATMs, copying and faxing service.  Additionally, a consumer can obtain money orders with no purchase fees – no other purchase is necessary for a customer to be able to purchase a money order for free.
