We cash many kinds of checks: personal checks, computer and handwritten payroll checks, insurance checks, cashier's checks, and government checks. We also cash money orders, traveler's checks, and out-of-state and international checks.

Q: Is there a check amount that you won't cash?

 We can cash most checks subject to certain restrictions.

Q: What do I need to bring with me to cash a check?
A:
Simply bring a valid government issued photo ID (i.e., driver's license, military ID, passport).

Q: What is the amount of the fee you charge to cash my check?
A:
You'll find our fee schedules posted in the lobby of each location. Our fees are generally lower than the maximum fees allowed by the state.

Q: Do you have ATM's located in The Amscot Money Superstores™? 
A:
Yes, we have ATM machines at all of our locations. You can obtain cash in increments of $20.00 up to $600.00.

Money Orders

Q: How much do you charge for a money order?
A:
We never charge a fee for purchasing a money order – they are always FREE! At Amscot you only pay the face value of the money order.

Q: Will you cash a money order?
A:
Yes. We will cash any money order, for any amount.

Q: What do I do if my money order is lost or stolen?
A:
Your money order receipt stub is required for stop payment and as proof of purchase. A replacement of the money order will not be considered until 30 days after purchase date and a fee will be charged for this service. Other fees may apply. If your money order is lost, stolen or destroyed, click here to print a money order claim form. You may also go into any Amscot branch and request a money order claim form.

Amscot Cash Advance

Q: What do I need to bring with me in order to get an Amscot Cash Advance?
A:
 Proof of income (pay stub, direct deposit, bank statement, etc.), your check or account information, and a valid government issued photo ID (i.e., driver's license, military ID, passport).

Q: How much can I receive with a cash advance?
A
: You are eligible to receive up to $500.00 in increments of $50.00.

Q: How do you decide what amount I will receive?
A
: We determine the amount to offer based on your income, frequency of pay and other information provided by you. No credit check is performed. View our Privacy Policy.

Q: How much does it cost?
A:
Amscot’s fees are among the lowest in the cash advance industry. We charge a service fee of 10% of the amount advanced, plus a $3.00 state fee. For example, a $100.00 cash advance would cost $13. As an annual percentage rate that would be 338.93%, which assumes a 14-day hold period. You will write a check for $113.00 for Amscot to hold until your next payday, up to 31-days.

Q: How long do I have before I am required to pay back my cash advance?
A:
We hold your check until your next scheduled payday.

Q: If I currently have a cash advance through another provider, can I get another cash advance here?
A
: Under Florida law you can only have one outstanding cash advance at a time. In order to get a new cash advance with us or another provider in Florida, you must first pay off or terminate your outstanding cash advance at the provider where you obtained it. There is a required 24 hour waiting period after you pay off or terminate a cash advance before you are able to obtain a new cash advance.

Q: What if I change my mind after taking out a cash advance?
A:
Amscot follows INFiN Best Practices and state laws regarding rescission. You can rescind your cash advance at no cost before the end of the following business day by simply returning the full amount of the advance.

Q: What should I do if I am unable to pay my cash advance on time?
A
: If you are unable to repay your cash advance on time you could be eligible for alternative payment arrangements such as the Grace Period, or if you meet certain requirements, the Extended Payment Plan. Please come into a branch and ask an Amscot associate for more details.

Q: Can I revoke my ACH authorization for my cash advance?

Q: Can I send money to pay one of my bills?

Yes. All of our locations offer Western Union Money Transfer® services.

Q: What do I need to bring with me in order to use Western Union?
A:
Bring a valid government issued photo ID (i.e., driver's license, military ID, passport). You will also need to provide your name, address, telephone number and date of birth. Amscot may also require other transactional details.

Q: How much will it cost me to use Western Union?
A:
Fees* are determined at the terminal by Western Union at the time of the transaction.

Q: Can I bring in a document to be notarized?
A:
Yes, each Amscot location has a certified Notary on-site. Be sure to bring your valid government issued photo ID (i.e., driver's license, military ID, passport) with you to conduct the transaction. The fee is $10.00 per notary stamp. Restrictions apply. Please come into a branch and ask an Amscot associate for more details on documents we are able to notarize.

Q: Can I send or receive a fax from an Amscot location?
A:
Yes, you can send and receive faxes at every Amscot location - domestically and internationally. To send a fax domestically the fee is $3.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page. To send a fax internationally the fee is $6.00 for the first page and $3.50 for each additional page.

Q: Can I make copies?
A:
Yes, you can make black and white photocopies at each Amscot location for $ .25
per page.

Q: Can I buy stamps and envelopes?
A:
Yes, we sell stamps for face value and envelopes are $ .10 cents per envelope.

Q: Can I pay my utility bills at an Amscot location?
A:
You most likely can. See our *list of billers that includes TECO (Tampa Electric Company), OUC (Orlando Utilities Commission), Florida Power & Light, Duke Energy and more. Bring your current monthly bill or account number for any of our listed billers to any Amscot location to pay your bill quickly and easily. If you don't see your utility company, let us know which company you would like to pay and we will try to add them. We are always trying to add new billers to make paying your bills at Amscot even more convenient! *List of billers is subject to change.

Q: Can I pay my cell phone bill at an Amscot location?

In many instances, yes! AT&T, MetroPCS, Sprint PCS, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless customers can now make payments at any of our locations. Bring in your current monthly bill or cell phone number for any of our listed billers and pay your bill quickly and easily. Fees start at $1.00 per bill payment. Your payment will be credited to your account within 1 – 3 business days. See our full *list of billers for more participating companies. *List of billers is subject to change.

Q: Do you offer mail drops or postal services?

: Mail drops, serviced by the U.S. Postal Service, are now available at most Amscot
