Amscot Financial contributes mini-grants to 14 non-profit service groups

Tampa, FL – (September 26, 2017) – Amscot Financial, a leading provider of convenient, consumer-oriented financial services, recently awarded mini-grants of $250 to $1,500 in support of 14 different non-profit service organizations located in the Florida communities where the company serves several million consumers.

Mini-grants went to the following organizations:

  • Children’s Advocacy Center Osceola, Kissimmee.   • Deltona High Blue Brigade Marching Band, Deltona. The Deltona High Blue Brigade and Color Guard is planning a trip to Nashville, TN where among other great learning activities, they will be visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame. For more information, please visit: www.dhswolves.com
  • Dibia Dream, Miami. Their community outreach initiative harnesses the preexisting motivational foundation in youth by bridging their desire for excellence, leadership and sports to educate youth on other essential core value systems. They translate the skills that are required to win in sports into skills that are required to win at life.   • Educational Foundation of Lake County, Inc., Leesburg. The ACT Reading Prep Program is designed to support students who are at risk of not graduating high school due to low performance in the reading section of the required Florida standardized test.   • Hands Up Homeless Ministries, Inc., Leesburg. The "Hands Up" Backpack Program helps restore hope to the homeless. Each month, their dedicated team of volunteers distributes backpacks to the homeless containing necessary daily items such as food and toiletries.   • Leesburg Police Department's National Night Out, Leesburg. On October 3, 2017, the Leesburg Police Department will host Leesburg’s National Night Out at Susan Street Complex between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.  National Night Out is a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.   • PACE Center for Girls-Orange, Winter Park. They are a non-profit educational and counseling program for girls age 11-18 who may be having challenges at school, at home, or in the community. Girls at PACE have experienced trauma resulting from substance abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, incarceration, physical abuse and more.
